Fundraiser to Help the families of the Warren Steel Holdings Explosion

On Aug. 11, 2011 our community was rocked by an explosion that has touched almost every memeber of Trumbull County in some way. Five men working for Warren Steel Holdings were injured in an explosion in the melting shop. These men were not just members of our community they were old school chums, friends, neighbors, family members, and loved ones.
Among the injured are: Dave Smith - La-Brae class of 1989 flown to Akron Burn Unit, Chris Carvin, was flown to Cleveland MetroHealth's Burn Unit from Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Mike Buckner - Newton Falls class of 2004 also flown to Akron Burn Unit, Jeff Webber and William DeJesus, were treated at St. Joseph Health Center
This is a family picnic event: volleyball, corn hole, popcorn, and a bounce house for the kids. Chinese auction, silent auction, and 50/50 Raffle. Advance tickets on sale NOW - $9.00 for ages 16 -96 ($1.00 Off door price), $5.00 for ages 7-15 ($2.00 Off door price), $3.00 for ages 3 - 6, ages 2 and under FREE. Parking for this event is FREE at Without a Paddle (the Captain Kelly Plaza) with additional FREE parking at James Dance Studio. Specialty drinks being premiered for this event to honor these men and the heritage of our valley - come try one
Items donated for auctions include some of the following: Gift certificates for Sandy's Tires, El Torreo Mexican Restaurant, Dairy Queen, and Tax Preparation Services. Several very nice items from local jewelers, various bottles of wine, various bottles of other liquors, gift baskets w/ gift certificates to area chiropractors, AVON gift baskets, Scrapper's tickets, Indian's tickets, an adorable diaper cake - perfect if you have a baby shower in your near future, movie baskets, baskets for the reader in your life. More items than I can possibly list and more items are coming in daily. Chinese auction tickets are: $1.00 each, 6 for $5.00, 12 for $10.00, or 20 for $15.00.
These familiies are going to need help, they need our prayers, and they need the support of their community. Please step up and help them.
